Heart of The Community Foundation
Established in 2018, the Heart of the Community Foundation is the Jones Retail Group’s dedicated charitable foundation, created to give back to the communities that have supported us for generations.
Driven by a commitment to making a meaningful and lasting impact, the Foundation provides financial assistance, resources and support to local charities, community organisations, schools, sporting clubs and grassroots initiatives across Southeast Queensland. Our focus is on supporting programs that strengthen communities, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for those who need them most.
One of our proudest partnerships is with The Cage Youth Foundation, which Jones Retail Group has proudly supported for more than six years. Through fundraising events, community initiatives and the generosity of our customers, supplier partners and team members, we have raised more than $500,000 to help The Cage Youth Foundation continue its vital work supporting vulnerable young people and strengthening families in our local communities.
At Jones Retail Group, we believe our responsibility extends beyond our supermarket doors. Through the Heart of the Community Foundation, we are proud to support organisations that make a genuine difference and help build stronger, healthier and more connected communities for generations to come.
The Heart of the Community Foundation enables us to invest directly into causes that matter most. From fundraising events and community partnerships to emergency relief and local projects, every initiative is guided by our belief that strong communities are built through kindness, connection and giving back.
IGA Community Chest Program
At Jones & Co Grocer IGA, we’re proud to support our local communities through the IGA Community Chest program. Every time you shop with us, you’re helping make a difference. Funds raised through Community Chest support a wide range of local initiatives, from assisting communities affected by natural disasters to providing essential equipment for schools, sporting clubs and community organisations.
The majority of these funds are generated through the purchase of products displaying the IGA Community Chest logo. When you buy one of these participating products at Jones & Co Grocer IGA, a percentage of the purchase is contributed directly to our store’s Community Chest fund.
Together with our customers, team members and supplier partners, we’re able to reinvest in the communities we call home, supporting local projects and organisations that create a positive and lasting impact. Every purchase helps us continue making a real difference, one community at a time.
Since 2017, Jones & Co Grocer IGA through the Community Chest program has helped raise more than $700,000 for local charities, community groups and worthwhile causes across the Redlands, Gold Coast & Scenic Rim areas.
Sponsorship & Donation Guidelines
At Jones & Co Grocer, we are committed to supporting initiatives that make a positive difference in the local communities we serve. Priority is generally given to organisations, schools, and charities that directly benefit children, families, and community wellbeing within our trading areas.
If you are applying on behalf of an organisation, charity, or school, you must be authorised to submit the application. Please ensure that no other person has submitted, or intends to submit, an application on behalf of the same organisation, charity, or school.
The following requests are generally not eligible for sponsorship or donation support:
- Requests for Fundraising activities to be constructed outside our stores including:
- Sale of raffle tickets
- Merchandise sales
- Product sales
- Collection of donations
- Promotional or fundraising tables
To ensure customers have safe, convenient, and uninterrupted access to our stores, Jones & Co Grocer does not permit fundraising, promotional activities, or information booths at store entrances or on store premises unless specifically arranged and approved by our management team.
Due to the high volume of requests received, not all applications will be successful. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for considering Jones & Co Grocer as a community partner.
The following criteria are used by Jones & Co Grocer when assessing requests for sponsorships and donations. Please review these guidelines carefully before submitting an application.
- Due to the high volume of applications received, requests should be submitted at least four (4) weeks prior to the date the donation, sponsorship, or support is required. Applications received with less notice may not be considered.
- Donations and sponsorships are generally provided to schools, registered charities, and not-for-profit organisations.
- Preference is given to organisations and initiatives that support children, families, and local communities within the areas in which we operate.
- All requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Applications are assessed on their individual merits, community impact, alignment with our values, and against other requests received.
- To be considered, all requests must be submitted through the Jones & Co Grocer Request for Support Application Form.
- While we strive to support as many worthy causes as possible, submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
- Applicants will be notified of the outcome once their request has been reviewed and a decision has been made.
